VERA ARUTYUNYAN

“WHEN I PAINT, I PLUNGE INTO MY SUBCONSCIOUS WORLD IN A QUEST FOR THE PATH TO SUPERCONSCIOUSNESS…”

Vera Arutyunyan was born in Yerevan, Armenia. In her art, she combines primary colors and an aggressive brushstroke style toward a decidedly contemporary version of Abstract Expressionism. The artist’s vigorous and defined brushstrokes are filled to the brim with the very energy of her technique – the very motions of her wrist. In total, they are primary colors – infused visions of action painting forever frozen in time.

Vera Arutyunyan has participated in a variety of solo and group shows, biennales, galleries and museums in the United States as well as in France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia, Armenia, China, South Korea, and Canada. In 1991, she moved to the United States. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
