SUSAN CLUSENER

Demossa Gallery presents the ceramic artist, Susan Clusener. Clusener applies great skill and craftsmanship to her investigation of natural objects in her surroundings. The exhibition includes some of her ceramic sculptures.
Susan Clusener explores color, form and scale. These works are both powerful and playful. In the sculpture entitled “Half Apple,” Clusener places tiny apples and a miniature tree within an opening of a two-foot wide half-sliced apple. A life-sized beetle clinging to the apple’s surface completes the piece.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alfred University, New York State College of Ceramics. She currently creates her work at her studio in Nipomo, California, and teaches ceramics at Allan Hancock College, Santa Maria.
