I am always impressed by the people who come from nothing and make something of their lives, but I am always even more impressed by the people who come from having everything, from having it all, but still strive for more and make something great of their lives.
Let me give you a very good example here. Stella McCartney is a very successful and talented fashion designer who happens to also be the daughter of Paul McCartney, one of the four members of the band, The Beatles. I happened to come across her name and what she does when she had just started her career in fashion, back when she was still only based in England. Following that, I also remember when she just opened her first shop in New York, and I wanted to make sure to let everyone know that the place was open to the public and her prices actually could be affordable. When I just saw a few of her designs and items, having lived in London for so many years, the first thing that came into my mind was how much her work has British influence. Later on, she blossomed to the very wonderful international fashion designer that she is now.
I bought a few of her clothes and boots, and I love them all. They kind of grow on you. I kind of compare her work with Gucci – at least, for me and in my wardrobe. I personally like both brands the same way and put them in the same category.
When I had read that she won the award for best fashion designer of the year at the British Fashion Awards, I smiled and I thought I should share the news here with you. (Read more here: http://www.contactmusic.com/news/stella-mccartney-dominates-british-fashion-awards_3392980)
