An Arrangement for Vera Arutyunyan’s Opening Night

August 9, 2012

I love Vera Arutyunyan’s work. She is such an energetic colorist and a dynamic painter with a very nice personality. When I showed her art in my gallery, I could not help but notice that the main dominating colors in the place were all primary colors, particularly red. I love the color red. So for her exhibition’s opening night, I used a long cylindrical vase and filled it up with water and a few drops of red food dye. I covered it with a glass top  and used my selection of dried fruits and nuts in long glasses from my glass collection. I wore my red St. John dress that evening and wore red lipstick – my way of making a statement, going all the way with the color red.
