In Mahvash Mossaed’s paintings, the viewer can witness the complex and yet simple relationship between darkness and light as an attempt to look through the energy and the motion of what is around, beneath, and beyond us here as a physical matter. In her paintings, the artist and her brush unite together to create that mystic electrical consciousness, which is responsible for capturing the unplanned and purely unpredictable magic of the moment. Mahvash’s powerful and dynamic brush strokes and her bold shapes and lines openly and simply reveal the kind of reality that can only be told in black and white, with no gray areas in between. The compositions in her body of work are based on the organic balance and harmony found in nature around us. The artist takes the leap of courage to describe this balance and harmony with just a few brush strokes, all out there, with no where to hide.
