VINCENT SERRITELLA & GILBERT REYES
Of Cuban-Italian American descent, Vincent Serritella was born in Miami, Florida. The symbolism and philosophy of Latin art combined with the discipline, craftsmanship and techniques of the Italian masters have had a major influence on his work.
His paintings have been exhibited in museums, galleries, and cultural centers, including Nassau County Museum of Art and Gallery Revel in New York City; The Hive Gallery, The Studio, James Gray Gallery, and The New Puppy Gallery in Los Angeles; The Center for the Fine Arts and Art Basel with Laure de Mazieres Gallery in Miami, Florida. He attended New World School of the Arts in Miami, Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, and The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York City, where he received a B.F.A.
Growing up as a self-taught artist in San Antonio, Texas, his love for art never ceased. After years as a workers’ compensation hearing representative and legal assistant, he retired and totally devoted his time to art and rekindling his art.
Gilbert’s art strives to reflect as many aspects of Latino culture, from its complexities to its simplicities and the whimsical. However, there are moments of venturing into atypical art.
He lives in Los Angeles, California, in El Sereno.
